Miss Universe 2011

this is just my opinion and does not reflect anyone else. For me, Miss Angola deserves to win the crown. She has the regal bearing fit for a queen and has the intelligence and beauty too. however, Miss Philippines deserves to be, if not the reigning Miss Universe title, then the First runner up position coz it was apparent it was a close fight between Miss Angola and Miss Philippines. I dont know why Miss Ukraine was the one who was named as the first runner up. I always thought that once it the top five all scores are back to zero and the weight of the scoring fall down to the Q & A portion. Still for me its MIss Philippines as the first runner up.

the cebuano language

its been 6 months since i worked in a mixed cebuano-ilonggo place. the place is nice and the people friendly but since i dont know any cebuano or visayan then i really have a hard time understanding esp. if they speak fast. fortunately my co-employees are kind enough to serve as a translator. but i'm learning and i hopw next year i could speak it fluently.

recipes for everyone

i really don't know how to cook but i love to browse over cook books. In fact i do buy cook books so i could read it but never sampled one recipe. Just looking at it gives me a nice feeling as if i am indeed a good cook. From there i progressed to watching cooking shows where i finally learned the basic of saute(ing). Finally it registered in my brain. Still i would cook only if i have somebody to guide me. but i do know how delicious food taste. This i would try to catch/reach with each recipe. still i know i have a long way to go. One site i found interesting in the net is the panlasangpinoy.com. i've been promising myself to try one recipe, to see if they do really taste good as they look. someday.... and when i do i will definitely post it here

New Year 2011

It's a new year again..another chance to change for the better, to let go of the pain and to go on with a new vigor and zest for life. This time lets put GOD in the midst of our lives and in whatever endeavor we will take. Let us never lost faith in HIM and always believe in HIS love for us. whatever we do let us offer it to HIM.

kris or ruffa ?

the episode of buzz this afternoon showed ruffa walked out of the show. the reason Kris said ""aminin mo ruffa masaya dito sa abs" . with tone and expression definitely showing it was said in jest. ruffa is leaving abs for another job in a different station supposedly after next week episode. Well i think ruffa and her mom are just looking for something to hype her transfer. Definitely there's nothing wrong with the statement of Kris. as the segment's name show its POV, meaning point of view. everybody is entitled to his or her opinion and the 3 hosts may agree or disagree with each other and thats fine. defend your opinion. according to ruffa this is not the first time. . . of what? that Kris disagreed with her view? the problem with her, ruffa, is she can't stand toe to toe with Kris in discussions or arguments. well kris is definitely intelligent and i believe ruffa falls short in this category compared to kris. She's no lost to the buzz. there are a lot of celebrities who can take over and probably perform better especially in discussions. Walking out from a show just like that just show that she's acting like a brat. maybe she thinks she's still 16 years old. she better read a lot so she can develop an opinion that is worth listening to. As a host you dont even deserve a rating.
and her mom, why bring in noynoy when he has nothing to do with the show. Kris is known to be frank ever since but she does talk about her views and knows how to defend them. anybody please give annabel a mirror so she will see who is the masamang ugali. sila nga yong palaaway parati. i guess its their way of gaining publicity.

ITS RACING TIME AGAIN!

The world of Formula 1 is all buzz again with the return of the legend...Michael Schumacher, in 2010. A 7 times world champion is back on the F1 cockpit again and for me it means back to following the schedule of the races and being glued on the tv screen for hours. When he retired in 2006 i stopped following the races and would just watch for a short time if i happen to see it on tv, just enough to see who is leading but 2010 will be different i'm sure as my idol will once again drive, this time for Mercedes-benz. Whether REd or white and blue or whatever color he wears, Michael will surely win.

Choosing a President

What is import now in choosing the next president is not his/her flatform or his/her promises of what (s)he plans to do when (s)he becomes a president. We had a president who claimed to be the top of his/her class, a brilliant mind to say, but LOOK where that president led us. Not on top of the fast growing nation, not even just on the list of a progressive country. But we are one of the most corrupt country in the world. WHERE ARE THE PROMISES THEY MADE WHEN THEY RAN FOR PRESIDENT? DID THEY FOLLOW THEIR FLATFORMS? I dont believe so. What they say in the news is not what i see in reality. So this time, I would choose someone with INTEGRITY, MORALS and TRANSPARENCY IN HIS GOVERNANCE. These I believe will help us recover from the depth of poverty and corruption. So look deep in your heart and conscience and choose the RIGHT PERSON TO LEAD US.

where to go if you have visitors

Having visitors especially if they are family members is a happy time for us. It's the time to get reacquainted and to come up to date with the news that happened in our lives. Its the time to meet new members of the family by sanguinity or whatever .

Here in Negros Occidental, we are lucky to have beautiful sceneries to take our guests and i'm sure they enjoyed the places we took them too.

the scenery was perfect. the water was cool and free flowing. It was a nice respite from the sun

What ?

To the guys and gals who touched my life last semester let me say adiue and aurevoir. you made my life richer. hope our path crosses again someday and to the very huggable lady who helped me and them enriched their knowledge let me say THANK YOU and a big kiss to you. may you continue to impart your knowledge and skills to those who are willing to learn.

that's the problem with HELLO , someday we may have to say , maybe not goodye, but hasta la vista when our roads separate in the horizon.

What an Experience!

I never thought it will be fun but it was. It gave me such a high, now I'm thinking of having one build. Try it and you'll see.

I must be CRAZY!

Kart racing or karting is a variant of open-wheel motor sport with simple, small four-wheeled vehicles called karts, go-karts, or gearbox/shifter karts depending on the design. They are usually raced on scaled-down circuits. Karting is commonly perceived as the stepping stone to the higher and more expensive ranks of motorsports.
Karts vary widely in speed and some (known as Superkarts) can reach speeds exceeding 160 mph (250 km/h)[1], while go-karts intended for the general public in amusement parks may be limited to speeds of no more than 15 mph (25 km/h). A KF1 kart, with a 125 cc 2-stroke engine and an overall weight including the driver of 150 kilograms has a top speed of 85 mph (140 km/h). It takes a little more than 3 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph with a 125 cc shifter kart (6 gears), with a top speed of 115 mph (185 km/h) on long circuits.

Now i understand why some people, adult or young, are crazy about this sport. It indeed gives you such adrenaline rush you will go back to it. I know how to drive but I'm not crazy about it. Its fine by me if someone else drives but having tasted driving a home made kart, our group is now thinking/planning of building 1 or 2 karts. Hahaha. You may think of us crazy but i challenge you to drive one, I bet you'll love it too. We're just provincial folks, we don't have the facilities of a racing track as sleek as those you see in metro urban places. We make do with what we have. But we know how to enjoy to the max. Who knows the kid in the imageloop may become an A1 driver someday.

Stroke Warning Signs

If you notice one or more of these signs, don't wait. Stroke is a medical emergency. Call 9-1-1 or your emergency medical services. Go to a hospital right away!
Heed the warning signs of stroke:

Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
Sudden, severe headache with no known cause

Be prepared for an emergency.

Place the telephone numbers of the hospital or emergency services next to the telephone and in your pocket, wallet or purse with the name of the person you want to be notified.
if you're not capable of driving yourself to the hospital, call someone who could take you there.
Don't delay!

Not all the warning signs occur in every stroke. Don't ignore signs of stroke, even if they go away!
Check the time. When did the first warning sign or symptom start? You'll be asked this important question later.
Friends, relatives, or whoever, if you see some one with these signs please take them to the hospital right away.Dont take their denial or NO. Act fast and bring them to a hospital or emergency facility. It is better to be safe than sorry.

PREVENTION IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN CURE!


a cousin was brought to a hospital yesterday afternoon because of stroke. He denied feeling anything out of ordinary but someone who lives in the same house claimed he already experienced numbness in his right arm the night before the incident. Surely a warning sign but he chose to ignore it. Early evening yesterday, when his BP went down to 180/110 we opted to transfer himm to a medical center in bacolod city. i dont know the ctscan result at this time but i'm glad that before he left our place he was already awake, oriented and conversant although we had trouble understanding him because of his slurred speech. Will go to visit him tomorrow.
