SIGNS OF PNEUMOPERITONEUM

WALL SIGN / RIGLER SIGN /BAS-RELIEF SIGN: Air on both sides of bowel as intraluminal gas and free air outside (usually >1000 ml of gas)


FOOTBALL SIGN: large pneumoperitoneum outlining the entire abdominal cavity; outlined by falciform ligament


TELLTALE TRIANGLE SIGN: triangular air pocket between 3 sides of bowel


INVERTED V SIGN: outline of both lateral umbilical ligament


RUQ GAS:


DOPE’S CAP SIGN: triangular collection of gas in the Morrison’s pouch ( posterior hepatorenal space)


SADDLEBAG / MUSTACHE / CUPOLA SIGN: gas trapped below central tendon of diaphragm
